Starting new AWESOME POWER FITNESS classes in Savannah, Ga

For those in and around Savannah that are interested:

I am planning to develop an Awesome Power lunch break fitness program that will be held at Forsyth Park in Savannah, Ga., Mon - Fri, from either 1230 to 1 or 1 to 130. I may even do it earlier on Tues and Thurs. This will be a very good program for anyone looking to raise their metabolism for the rest of their day and burn a lot of calories as a result.  It will involve mostly bodyweight exercises, some basic pilates, some sport agility moves, and possibly some medicine ball and kettle bell work.  My main focus is always on the core.  The core is the center of everything in your body and therefore the center of most of my attention! This class will be very fast paced once you get comfortable with the moves.

I will also be starting an Awesome Power Aqua Sport class at the Savannah Auquatic Center very soon. This will be a very intense class 45min-1hr long. It is very athletic and mostly plyometric in nature with continuous cardio. The benefits being reduced impact and increased resistance so that more people will be capable of doing the moves involved. In other words, you don't really need to be a good athlete to participate in this class. People that may have joint or injury issues as well as those with lack of good conditioning will still be able to do this because of the low impact in water and do what you're capable of doing program design.  I will probably only be able to do this class one or two days a week; Wednesday, possibly early morning, is highly likely.

Starting the first Wednesday morning in March I will be teaching a Pilates/ Core Integration class at Synergistic Bodies Health Spa. We haven't ironed out the exact time yet and I will update that info when we do.  It should be some time early to mid morning.

If you have any questions or would like some more info please post a message.

Sincerely,

William Tyre

Lost cause New Years Resolution? Don't let dreary and weary winter lead into suffering spring physique. GET FIT HERE AND NOW!

Are any of you starting to think back on your new years resolution and realizing you let that motivation slip away some.  Everyone can have an excuse at any point in their life for why they didn't achieve something or just plain failed.  It's bound to happen to the best of us at one time or another.  To overcome this you must not let failure discourage you.

If you want to get into great shape you use failure and frustration to fuel you.  AND DONT DARE SAY YOU CAN'T! There is no such thing as can't!  YOU EITHER DON'T WANT TO OR YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO!  Now, if its because you don't know how to, you're in the right place.

The key to it all is WANT.  Think back on any time you failed at something that you know you could have achieved.  It is highly likely that the reason behind the failure was that you just didn't WANT IT bad enough.  Now think about a time in your life when you know you really wanted something so bad that no challenge or obstacle could keep you from achieving that.  In these instances failure is never a final option.  Those who have an attitude that focuses only on success will create just that.   We learn the lessons from our past failures to create current and future success.

Im going to veer off into some subject matter that should help give perspective.  Those with the toughest mental attitude can fail the majority of the time and still be a success.  Take for instance every professional baseball player that has ever lived.  Every single one of them has failed more as a hitter than they have succeeded.  Now, do you think that a guy that gets paid more than the president is considered by most to be a failure?  Well, only to the most critical of fans, maybe.   For those of you who are not baseball savvy please bear reading just a bit more.  A very good batting average for a professional baseball player is .300.  That means that the elite of the sport fail 7 out of 10 times.  When was the last time you saw a guy strike out and decide to just quit or give up?  The point Im getting at is that you don't have to always win to be successful.  You just have to learn how to win at what you really want and don't stop until you do, and even then don't stop because it can slip right away from you.  Also, do not ever dwell on failure.  You have to step back up to the plate.  Again, learn from it and move on.  Baseball players are taught to have very short memories when it comes to failure.  Never focus on what you're doing wrong.  Instead focus on what you're not doing right then make the adjustment. You focus on the success of the future!  However, the success of the future relies 100% on the attitude and action of the here and now.  Take action now, even if it is simply sitting in your bedroom or office and changing your attitude toward success and action.  Now I will say this, being consistent in getting in shape is way easier than being consistent at hitting a 92 mph fastball.  Believe me I know because I've attempted both and I've been way more successful at getting and staying in shape.

We fail 100% of the times we don't make the attempt or put forth the effort.  In terms of finality there is no try or tried, you either do/did or you don't/didn't.  Try implies failure.  Just do it, no matter how many attempts and how much effort it takes.  You will always get it right eventually if you refuse to fail and accept only success!

Learn what works for your body and continue to improve on it.  There is always room for improvement no matter how good looking you are.  Even the most elite athlete practices constantly to get better.  The best attitude you can possibly have is to always WANT TO GET BETTER!

I encourage any queries pertaining to exercise or nutrition specifics.  My purpose here is to educate and inform.   I am looking to do my next entry on getting ready for spring swimsuit season.  Please feel free to ask anything and I'll try to include it in the next entry.  I am here to help.

Sincerely,

William Tyre

Introducing AWESOME POWER FITNESS to the world!

Hello to all health and fitness enthusiasts as well as those that are simply curious.  I am very excited to now share with you the wonderful knowledge that I have attained in the field of kinesiology and nutrition.  My fascination of building a more healthy spirit, mind, and body has led me along this path.  It only seems appropriate, having learned what I have thus far, to spread the benefits of knowing the proper methods and applications of fitness beyond just the clients that I deal with on a daily basis.

My intention is to give the most thorough information possible in the areas of exercise protocol, implementation, nutrition, supplementation, and adaptation.  I highly encourage any and all that are seeking information to ask the burning question, whatever it may be.  If there is a question related to fitness and nutrition that I do not know the answer to I will happily do the research to find out.  It's what I do!

I'm sure you've heard the saying "knowledge is power".  I say that is somewhat misleading.  All the knowledge in the world unapplied achieves nothing, therefore I say "applied knowledge is power".  I believe with proper knowledge applied through the awesome power of our spirit, mind and body we can achieve anything and all things are possible.

I look forward to hearing and responding to your questions.

      Sincerely,

William Tyre
